  It's a Dirty Job But ... ..

The guys started work on the back yard today.

This was the view of our back yard, taken from the back deck, yesterday.

This is after they knocked down the trees this morning.

After the concrete wall, that was embedded in our lawn, was removed the gas man straightened our gas line.

Current view of our back yard.

I don't know when they are coming back. The contractor told me our fence should be delivered sometime this week but he's not sure when it will go up.

The good news: We only have to mow the front lawn for the rest of the season.
The bad news: The Four Year Old missed all the excitement.

A lot of work being done there, but from the sound of it, it will all be worth it. What a nice looking yard you will have, for sure! Too bad the little one missed out on seeing it, but there will be other work that will get done that might be of interest to see and watch.

How exciting! I like your alley going along there, something we don't have in the newer subdivisions.

Unfortunately, we get to live behind the laziest slobs on the next street over. They painted their fence on the inside but not the outside. They never cut the tangle of weeds behind their house. Believe it or not; there is a chesterfield between the weeds and their fence. It's been there for years.

I'm so out of touch. Sorry I haven't been the best of blogging buddies lately. Seems like life keeps getting in the way.
It looks so sunny and nice there. It's sunny and friggin' hot and humid here.
Hope you're well.

Before you know it, both girls will be in school and you won't know what to do with all your spare time.

Interesting coloured dirt. Sandy soil? The gardener in me had to ask. If it was my yard, half would be fruit trees and berry bushes, the rest would be vegetable gardens. Maybe a few flowers, and just enough grass for a fire pit and a few lawn chairs.

The gardener in me calls it "dirt". We'll need a few loads of top soil for the new lawn. I'm picturing lots of roses, rhododendrons, lilacs, hydrangeas and flowers, lots and lots of flowers.

Maybe they were expressing their artistic side?

I don't know why they left that there.

Yes, they will seed it for us. I can't wait until next year when we'll be putting in some trees (Not fruit trees.) and flower beds. We've never had a nice back yard before. We always had dogs and there just wasn't any point to planting anything the dog would dig up. Also there was a little matter watching where you stepped.
