I called BC Hydro, back in June, to come and pick up our old fridge that's taking up space in the garage. They have a buy back program whereby they will come and pick up your old (environmentally bad), working fridge and pay you $30.00. They told me the guys would be here, to pick it up, on the July 17th. I wrote it on the calendar. I made a point of keeping today free from all obligations so as to be here when they come for the fridge. It's after three thirty and the bloody fridge is still sitting in my garage. If they don't show up today they will be hearing from me first thing tomorrow morning. With my luck I'm not even on their list for pick up. I haven't been twiddling my thumbs the whole day. I refinished an end table that my deceased F-I-L made when he was is school and I've almost finished my fourth grocery sack. If I have to be house-bound tomorrow I have some dinning room chair, seat cushions that need to be made and my sewing machine is out and ready to go. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go twiddle my thumbs some more.

I guess it's kind of hard to get too mad when it's a program that actually provides a service that saves people from having to do themselves, and then pays the people besides! That's a pretty decent program you have. Is that something you've had for awhile? (There used to be something similar when I lived in more city-like places...they would pick up at no charge, but in the suburbs you have to cart your own stuff to designated places and there's a charge for dropping off things.)
