Remember those two bad things that happened? Well number three has arrived. At least I'm hoping it's number three. We tried to use the gas fireplace downstairs and the remote wouldn't work so we changed the batteries in the remote and it still wouldn't work so we followed the instructions for removing the receiver to change those batteries but the receiver wouldn't budge. At this point we called the repair guy. He came this morning and apparently the receiver was being held in place by a wad of double sided tape. He got the receiver out, changed the batteries and voile, we have have ignition and a toasty warm basement. While he was here he checked out the noisy fan and fixed that too. I don't think I mentioned that the dishwasher's drainage hose had become disconnected (now repaired) and that's why we had the flooded kitchen. Also, DH & I fixed the printer all by ourselves so there's no need to drive it to Nanaimo for repairs. Here's to hoping the next three bad things hold off until next year.
