  Dalhausser

The revived U.S. men's favorites won a place in the last 16 of the Olympic beach volleyball on Wednesday and Australia's women edged past Brazil to win their pool in a crowd-wowing display of power and endurance.

Top-ranked Americans Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser proved their shock first match loss in Beijing was just a blip as they thundered past Argentina 21-12, 21-13.

Phillip "Phil" Peter Dalhausser (born January 26, 1980) is an American professional beach volleyball player. He and his partner, Todd Rogers, are the 2007 AVP Tour champions and the reigning FIVB world champions.

Dalhausser and Rogers are currently representing the United States at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Dalhausser was born in Baden, Aargau, Switzerland. He now calls his hometown Ormond Beach, Florida. He attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He attended the University of Central Florida and joined Lambda Chi Alpha, where he was named "Most Valuable Player" and received the William G. Morgan Award for most outstanding player. He earned a business degree at UCF and played for the club volleyball team. After college, he worked for a concrete company and then worked a short time for a firm that painted stripes on Florida highways.

At 6'9" (206cm), Dalhausser led the 2005 AVP tour in blocks and was sixth in kill percentage.

In 2006, Dalhausser teamed up with Todd Rogers. Dalhausser has previously teamed up with Nick Lucena. As of 2006, Dalhausser resides in Ventura, California.

In 2007, Dalhausser and Rogers won the FIVB World Championships in beach volleyball, the first U.S. beach team to win the gold medal at the tournament.
