Hubs acquired a high-end patio umbrella and installed it on our deck.

This inspired him to detail the Baby Q (bbq) and clean up the area, which has been home to our son's overflow of stuff (he's been in a transitional state of moving from Asheville, NC back here to South Pas, and just moved to Altadena).

Whew.

The umbrella completes our tiny deck. On our ledge overlooking the neighborhood full of pine trees and lovely homes, we have 3 planters with cascading greens.

Hubs put candle-lit lanterns between each planter. Once lit, the patio took on an ambience of, well, romance.

Gotta say one thing about hubs. He's a detail man (having been raised building boats) and a romantic.
