  Three's a Charm

Ok...You've met 1&2...now for son #3....

Owen came to live with us at nine months old along with his 16 y/o sister who rescued him from a home that upon investigation was condemned.

Local police officers found her wandering the street with his and her backpak...She was not enrolled in school as she was home to help her mom care for Owen....

Owens ears were so badly infected that they were separating from his head, he had many different rashes on his body and a suspect burn on one of his legs....

He was in desperate need of good nutrition....he constantly vomited, I believe it had to do with the Pepsi he was being given in his bottle, or perhaps the cheetos....

Owen was baby #8 in his family, mom did not have custody of any.....

We have been able to maintain a relationship with his extended family and are slowly introducing his other siblings.

Owens Sister is also still a part of our world. She has met a wonderful man to share her life with and together they have a beautiful son.

I am so proud of her for being brave enough to do the things she has done.

So now you have met the sparkles in my eyes.

Austin who now is 8 years old.
Jarod seven
and Owen six

I would walk to hell and back for these guys....they have my heart.....

It is you that is the Angel. I've thought about adoption many years ago, and I did some volunteer work and we were house parent in a youth shelter. However nothing to compare with the amount of compassion, love, patience, healing energy you must have.
God Bless you!

You must be blushing--I have been talking to EVERYONE (whether or not they have a computer)about the two Angels I met on the Internet--YOU ARE MY HEROINES!!!
PS Wish you would talk about the court battle if you can and want to.
PPS I wish I could remember their names but there are two guys in Staten Island who over 20 years ago adopted a child who is in college today and an outstanding lady--they have been featured on two MTV specials on gay parents raising children and were featured on Rosie's program dealing with the cruise they took with gay parents.
PPPS Okay, don't want to make this into a blog BUT did you hear about the case here of the two men who adopted HIV+ babies, raised them and when they reached their teens they wanted to adopt them (and the boys wanted to be adopted them) but according to Florida law they could only be foster parents?? I believe they eventually moved somewhere else and did adopt them.

How wonderful! I didn't get to choose my boys, (they were a gift from above), but I'd have to say that are my sparkles as well!

We are lucky that Divinity guided our paths to cross, and our eyes were open....

I am/have been so impressed with what you and your partner have done that I posted a blog referring people to read your blogs--you make me want to hug the kids!!!
And, of course, though you won't take credit for it, you did help Owen's sister!
