It has been over two months of applications and interviews so far but no takers. I am wondering if, at my age (74) , that it will be almost impossible. I am thinking of just settling for a temp position at near minimum wage and just be satisfied with that. I enjoy working with people, but am not able to volunteer.
If I could get by on our present income, I would spend most of my time in my wood-shop making crafts for the family and friends. It has been suggested that I make things to sell, but unfortunately it takes lumber and materials which costs. I guess I could take on work on commission and ask for a deposit. The only problem I see is that I would be obligated to meet a deadline.
It is hell to get old when you are not financially prepared.
