First loves, self-discovery, secret desires, homosexuality in the military and sexual awakenings pepper the plot lines of the four shorts featured in this collection of independent gay films. This fifth volume in the Boys Life series includes Michael Burke's "Fishbelly White," Israeli filmmaker Eytan Fox's award winner "Time Off," Adam Salky & David Brind's "Dare" and David Ottenhouse's "Late Summer."

We gave this 2 stars. All of the films were either bizarre, ended really strange or something!! Dare was ok and was a cute story, acting was good in it also. Fishbelly White...OMG I just can't even begin about this one...strange all the way around, we didn't like this one much at all. Late Summer...was odd and we didn't like all the death in it...very sad but a touching story none the less...good acting. Finally...Time Off...was awesome to see a Israeli movie but we didn't get if the end was a good or bad one...it just felt out of place.

Most of these short gay films are pretty bad--we are having a 'mini' gay festival of films at our local theatre--will end on Friday with "Another Gay Sequel" whixh I am not expecting much of--the first two were pretty ugh!
