  Kate & Leopold

Chick-flick favorite Meg Ryan is Kate, a woman who's been burned by love. Her scientist ex-boyfriend discovers a portal to travel through time, and he brings back a 19th century nobleman named Leopold (Hugh Jackman) to prove it. A skeptical Kate reluctantly takes responsibility for showing Leopold the 21st century ropes and falls for him. But Leopold must go back or forever change history.

Rated PG-13     1 hr. 58 min.     2001

Gave it 3 1/2 stars. It was a great love story but the whole time travel thing and a few other details were a little off but if you like love stories you should enjoy this one. Love to watch Hugh Jackman. He makes a sexy character in anything he does ;) .

I agree about Jackman!!!
I like Ryan--too bad her affair with Crowe messed her career up--it's time for her to do another romantic comedy with Hanks!

I have seen this! I thought it was good. One does have to suspend his disbelief a bit; but that's what fantasy land is all about, isn't it?

You are so welcome. That is a term I learned in college in one of my literature classes. In all good literature, and the same is true of any art form, a good author knows how to spin a tale in such a way that the reader or audience willingly suspends its disbelief, allowing that person to become the character as well as allowing the story to seem real, no matter how far-fetched it really might be.

I LOVE the way you worded that...."one does have to suspend his disbelief a bit" that is so true. Mahalo for the right words.

I don't think I've ever seen this one...

Like i said if you only look at the love story part of the story then you will really enjoy it. But the time travel and a few other parts have some puka's but I really did enjoy the love story part.
