  Pollyanna

The young, orphaned Pollyanna (Hayley Mills) arrives in a town that's embattled by feuds and intimidated by her rich, bitter Aunt Polly (Jane Wyman). But before long, Pollyanna's transformed the community with her indomitable will to see the good side of even the worst situations. Mills received a special Academy Award for her performance in this timeless Walt Disney tapestry of small-town Americana.

4 Stars. Loved this show as a kid and really enjoyed it as an adult. David of course cried and had a "Moment". Good story with lots of love and laughter.

I was very fond of this movie as a child. I occasionally dig it out and watch it again. What drew me to it, was seeing Pollyanna cherry-pick Bible verses to explain her behavior. The Christians were furious because Jesus made her happy, instead of choosing the usual "God hates everybody who isn't just like me" line. That made me smile!

very good point. I love Pollyanna for that...always looking on the bright side...I really try to do the same in my life (granted I am not as chipper as Pollyanna and may not always be as successful at it as she is...but i sure give it a try!!)

I wanted to be her too but only in Parent Trap. Did you see that?

This was one of my favorite movies when I was little. I have not watched it in years. I can never watch it without getting all watery.

nothing wrong with tears. Just means your more of a man than most cause you are in touch with your other side.
