I wish all of you a Happy Fourth of July. I turned down an opportunity to spend three days at the lake. I just didn't feel up to being out in this unbelievably hot weather we are having right now.

In exchange, I got the opportunity to "dog-sit". On second thought, maybe I should have gone to the lake. However, I have to admit this cool air-conditioning feels awfully good.

I'll wait til Labor Day weekend when, hopefully, it will be a bit cooler. In the meantime, I'm going to get caught up on some paperwork here at home that I have been putting off. Also, I think I'll take in the new Angelina Jolie movie.web tracker

To me, air conditioning is such a pleasure. We don't need it here in the mountains, but when we're in Las Vegas, I'm glad we have it.

I love The 4th of July! Such fond memories of barbecues at my Polish grandma's house with all the cousins, aunts and uncles!!!!!!! GOOD TIMES!
If you go to see Angelina, how about a review of 'Wanted'?

I got sidetracked and didn't make it to the movie, but I do plan to go in the very near future; and I promise a review after I see it. Hopefully, I'll make it this coming weekend.

Regardless of what one does, hopefully it is enjoyed when it's on a holiday. Hope you get to enjoy the quiet coolness of being at home, doing whatever you please.

The heat makes everything hard. We were indoors and didn't even know our town was on fire. When I did go out, I saw white ashes falling from the sky. Then we turned on the TV and got the news! Well, it was put out pretty quickly.

Yes, it was... Now it's the earthquake!!

Wow!! Thank goodness it was put out quickly, and you did not have to evacuate. Was it the result of all the fires I have been reading about and seeing on TV?

Sounds like a winner. My smallest grandchild had planned a picnic and none of us wanted to go out in the heat. The poor little tyke carried a table out under the tree and ate alone.

Ah! Bless her heart. Children get so excited about holidays, but it has been so hot and humid that I just can't get excited about much of anything. And to think we still the rest of July and then August! Ugh!

Thank you, Augusta. There will be fireworks for the next three nights all over the U.S. Big, big holiday for us.

They expect a rain chance of 50% here in Florida.I'm staying home all day and night to help the dogs handle the loud fireworks.I'll be covered with 5 dogs when the big firework display goes off.Enjoy your weekend.Laurie

We had a 30% chance of rain, but I don't think it is going to happen. Of course, for all those people who want to enjoy all the festivities, the parades, the ballgames, the lake, I hope it doesn't.
