I like talking to people, I am told that I have a talent relating to people from one end of the social spectrum to the other. Well I like talking to other parents, especially parents of younger children..like my own. I think by talking to other parents you can get worthwhile information that you store and use at a future date & time. I figure the most important thing you can give your children is a sense of values and self-worth. Money & material goods come and go, with no real value to show. But I guess it goes along with the saying.."give me a fish I will eat today, teach me to fish and I will eat for a lifetime". I believe it comes down to quality vs quanity, I believe thats where parents get confused. In this world we live in the time
constraints that we are under do not allow us to spend the time we'd all like with our children. But I believe if we make the most of the time we have with our children we can make a positive influence in their lives. In this world our children are exposed to many pitfalls by peers, and modern technology. Don't get me wrong about the technology, I believe if used in moderation it is an invaluable source for knowledge that I for one wished that I had when I was in school. I guess what I am saying is that we need to make an strong effort to keep the lines of communication open with our children, and let them know that it is okay to fail..as long as you give it your best effort. Also it is very important or them to know they are loved,and that love is unconditional..no matter how old the are or wherever they travel to.

Very well put. My daughter, now 36 was raised by her stay at home mom, was active in the girl scouts, no only selling cookies, but their group helped collect food for the food bank and bring it to underprivileged people in the community. She took red cross classes on first aid and safety and was a very trustworthy baby sitter.
She is now having to help me with my latest eye problems, driving me across town for my surgery's Twice now.
The child turns out as well as the time you devote to them.
