A Dedication to a Very Special Person

This past Monday the world lost a very special person. No she wasn't a public figure, nor was she a famous celebrity, she was my daughters 2nd grade teacher. Her name was Sr Catherine M. Giglio, and to say she was merely a catholic school teacher would be a large understatement. She was a friend,a confidant, and a moral compass to the children(and parents)for over 50 years. She was not only dedicated to educating children, but also giving them a moral foundation
which they could use(and cherish)for their entire lifetime. I am sure Sr Catherine would humbly disagree with me about her role in these children's lives, but she took far less credit then she deserved, and underestimated the role she played in our children's development. I believe I speak for the many people Sr Catherine touched when I say you will be remembered, loved, and above all missed. But also your memory will remain alive and vibrant in each child you taught, and each parent you came in contact with..and the world was made better for God sharing you with us, if only for a short time. She was such an inspiration to everyone she met. Why is it always the great ones we lose too soon?
