A couple of days ago, I was at my breaking point about my father not showing me an ounce of support for running a 10K. I was shocked that our relationship that had been so great the last decade had come to a screeching halt with the echoing words, "That's what she tells us."

And here it is. After passing the $1,000 mark for my charity run, my father just donated $50. Just now. Just this very moment I got a show of support for running a 10K from my father.

:sniff:sniff: ... holding back tears...

I really can't explain how much I needed that... anything from him. My mother has always, always, always been very supportive of everything I have ever done including moving to California. But getting my father's praise has always, always, always been a battle. I didn't need the money donation, I just needed something.

And I got it. :sniff:sniff:
