First the update on older sis - she's out of ICU and into a regular room for a day or two more. She's tired but talking. She has a paper thin scar down her chest from the heart valve replacement surgery yesterday.

But all is well in her world of recovery according to lil sis.



I decided this morning to get caught up on my bills as I got my $600 from the govt. In doing so I found out that my health insurance (that I pay for myself and have for the past 9 years) had gone up again! It went up $60 in December b/c I turned 35 and again this month "because it went up for everyone" as I was told. I demanded to speak to someone about this. And I did.

The lovely agent calmed me down and offered me a brand new plan that if I get "accepted" will knock my monthly payments in half. This month I paid $258 for my health insurance and next month (crossing fingers) I'll pay $132. Part of the decrease was taking myself off maternity benefits and prescription drugs - since I pay full price for name brands anyway on my current plan.



I'm so happy it's Friday but today is draggin' by because I'm the only one in the office answering the phones. I have to beg someone to cover so I can take bathroom breaks. It blows!

At least crazy boss is being diplomatic with me so far knowing that I'm covering the phone solo today.


Only a few more hours left till the weekend... and I have no real plans for the weekend except to run. To stick to my training schedule for the charity 10K, I only have to do 2 miles tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to a semi-lazy weekend.

Me too. The other girl is back today and I only have to answer them at lunch. I've never been a receptionist before and I swear I will never do it again! The weekend countdown has begun, huh? I'm counting down for the 3 day weekend now! I can't wait!

The latest report was the my older sis is alert and happy and more animated than my mom has seen her in months... and she's still in the hospital bed.
