  Cousin

bold text

Yesterday evening I drove a couple of miles to my cousin's house to give her her evening insulin injection. My mother always had to have someone give her those injections too. A person should never be that dependent on someone else for this vital service.
Being dependent is not a good thing, but sometimes people get used to it and don't learn to do what has to be done. I sincerely hope I never become that dependent on anyone.

You will never be a dependent person, dear Sue.

You'd think after a given amount of time, a person would want to do their own just for the feeling of accomplishment, like gassing up your own car. I vacuumed the upstairs yesterday and felt like I'd won a blue ribbon.

Hi troutbend; I found out while working home health
that so many people became dependent on family--not a
good thing.

I'm thankful my parents thought enough of us kids to voluntarily move to a facility with nurse care. What a relief not to have that burden.

Hi solitaire; Your parents were thoughtful people; besides, children
don't have the time or inclination to take on that burden nowadays.
