  Out of the Loop

Sorry I haven't been around. I'm a little overwhelmed right now with everything that is going on between school, not being sure about summer school employment, etc. ,etc. It's a mess down here in the school system right now. they cut back our summer school money by 75% and there is little left. I'm trying to hold it together and do the refi so I can get a month off of paying my mortgage -- which would be at the best time of the year...July! Anyway, I'm sort of exhausted today because my online classes have a lot of students who are trying to graduate and they need me to grade their submissions. The deadline is, of course, today and I'll be working on that. Plus, and not to belittle this, it is the deadline for the last newspaper today! So you can see I'm feeling a little, shall we say, stretched????? Later.

I worked once for an ad agency that got into financial trouble when the two principle owners lost a big client. They sent word around that due to their crisis all employees would receive a ten percent cut in salary until further notice.

The next morning I told one of the owners that due to my own financial crisis that would be caused by their cuts, I would only work 90 percent of the time.

They didn't cut my salary. I didn't get fired, either. (It wouldn't have mattered as I was already shopping my portfolio around the competing agencies.)
