Saturday is mow the lawn and do chores day as well as get a pedicure and my nails done day. That part I like a lot better. So much rain and the grass just keeps on growing. I actually sort of like it in the winter when the grass goes to sleep down here and you don't have to mow so often.
Yesterday was a tough day. Last night hubby and I sat and talked about Caylee for a while. We both were so sad. I think the fact that she was taken so suddenly from our lives when the mother and my son broke up. I was simply her Nana for almost a year and then suddenly, overnight, I wasn't. It was heartbreaking and I'm not sure I ever got over it. When I saw her the last time, I was afraid to grab her and hug her because I knew that at that point she didn't know me any more. I should have done it anyway.
Enough of that.
Younger son and older son are doing great. Younger son LOVES UGA and will be tailgating with a friend today before the game. Wish I was there, to tell you the truth.
My Carnival reservation says that it is now 51 days till I sail. It dangles in front of me like a juicy carrot to a very tired and overwhelmed donkey. I'll keep on keeping on because I must, but my heart has been really sort of taken out of me at school. I'm not happy this year. I have 6 classes (instead of the usual 5) and over 165 students. I'm trying to figure out how I can grade two writing classes and two journalism classes as well as producing a yearbook and an online newspaper. I really think that with all consideration, this will be my last year doing this. I'm just sort of burned out, if you know what I mean.
Well, I have to get to it. I am working at my favorite place tomorrow and being Dr. Deb for a day. I do enjoy that place and those people. Oh, I didn't tell you. A few of them took me out the other night. We went to Sea World (free for me) and went to, of all things, Beer School. It's like a wine tasting place but with beer. How funny! I tried 4 (tiny glasses) of different beers, along with cheese, fruit and chocolate to show how the flavors worked together. They taught us about beer and the carbonation. The reason you want the foam is because it actually brings out the flavor. Anyway, being a cheap drunk, I was tipsy and then we went and rode the Kracken, a huge rollercoaster. What fun! We rode on the front seat and I had a great time. It was a wonderful mini escape.
Okay, got to run. Have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend. Later
