Yep, I'm still hanging in there. Looks like we'll take some of what Hannah's got to offer, but you realize how jaded we get. I have two plastic bins full of food in case of an emergency. Our generator is in the garage (do need to get gas though). Our flashlights and batteries are in the cupboard and we have about 4 cases of water. I think we're good for a few days. Probably should get some extra stuff for the dogs and cat which I can take care of today at Petsmart. Anyway, we're in decent shape for a storm. We sort of live that way down here.
Worried about older son. He's having a tough time with eveyrthing that is going on in his life and he's sad. I've never seen him this way and I keep waiting for him to snap out of it, but there seems to be no snap coming. He's just felt so down since he left the police force and went back to being a civilian, but I can't help but believe he'd have been sadder still if he had stayed in something that he really could believe in. He figured out that he couldn't look at every single person as if they were potentially a criminal. He wanted to give people the benefit of the doubt and I guess as a cop you just can't afford to do that.
Anyway, he'll be fine. I know he is wondering why he moved away right now, he keeps telling me that, but I do believe that all things will work together for him if he'll just stay positive. Sometimes we have to do that in the midst of a storm.
Okay, got to go. Later you guys. Hope you are all behaving yourselves!
