So, basically, Palin is ignorant on every issue she is supposed to be expert in. She was on TV tonight saying the verdict on her troopergate activities was "political". She says all this with a cheery face. She is incredible. I could never learn to lie like that.

What a lovely way to spend the day. The terrorists couldn't have done a better job of bringing America to its knees than GWB and the right wing of the Republican party. We've got to climb out. I think we should have a mental/emotional test for anyone who wants to invest in the market. If you are a hysteric, you don't get to.

Are you sure you can't somehow manage to take a trip to see Mt. Rushmore or the Pits? Also getting someone to put up a clothesline doesn't seem insurmountable. How about that handy cousin of yours? I'd like to go to Europe again to a different place. It all seems too expensive now.

You describe the scene so well. First we build them out of their natural home, then we hunt them, then we get upset if they run into our cars. Progress?

Even when he was younger, he wasn't hot. It was always the hype. The young thing who left him was thinking, what, no inheritance? Well, they eat worms on those reality shows for a million don't they? Same difference.

Mushrooms in the market work for me. These look interesting though.

Birds get attached to people Susil. Also, he gives Cookie a lot of freedom. If you don't hold on tight, you won't have to hold on at all. An acquaintance of mine adopted a large parrot (you know they can outlive humans) and the bird is now bonded to her, but it took a long time because he was pining for his former owner. Actually, I find him scary. His eyes, that look painted on, follow you.

So sorry about your cousin's tragedy. The gun culture still consumes many.

I'd love to travel the Appalachian trail but it doesn't seem I will get the chance. Ed is definitely a believer in amenities and I don't think he would rough it. He refused to join a Civil War Reenactment group in Gettysburg (a passion of his) when he learned they would actually camp out on the fields. He said, "I need my own bathroom."

I am again reminded that paying anything before a job is finished or well-begun is risky. The other issue is satisfactory work. Approval of the work should be part of the agreement. Our neighbor is having a pool built as well as adding a room to his house. His contractor's workmen have destroyed the side of our lawn that they are using for access -- they have broken concrete edging, a decorative urn, and the lawn is now a mudslide. Our neighbor said they won't be paid till they restore our lawn. We'll see. In any case, their work is not top-notch so I don't know what a restored lawn will look like.
