Gees, did I miss another boring Sunday as the "sport" of cup racing was off for a weekly breather. Nah, did not miss a thing. The form of entertain ment had better wake up and smell the roses as it has become a boring, boring event. The sponsors will be dropping off as the TV ratings are down. Why? Too many laps of driving around and around until the last 30 or so laps to the finish. If you have a 200 lap plus race, this is one hell of a way to spend a Sunday. NASCAR had better wake up and make the laps leading up to the fi\nal 30 0r so laps meaningful. How? By awarding points to the drivers in 50 lap encrements. This way, the drivers will be aware of who is gathering extra points by leading 50 lap increments. What if the 24 car led the most in the first 50 laps, and garnered up 50 extra points. What if the next 50 laps had a 75 point award.,.Get my drift? The 20 and the 11 would see to it that the 24 did not get the extra 75 and guess what, you would lhave some racing and some interest amongst the fans. Oh well, I can only hope. I am a long time Nascar fan and it kills me to see this sport go down the tubes.
