Enjoying the Silence of the Night

It's almost midnight thirty, and the silence was just broken by the howls of a group of Coyotes just down the hill. the Department of Natural Resources will come and take them away, once you get them all nicely crated up for them. Do I impress anyone here as being born yesterday or stupid? They can howl all night and I am NOT messing with them. They aren't all huge or anything, but crikey, they have seriously sharp looking teeth.

In the time it has taken me to type this and yank a photo from my collection, they have finished howling, and all is quiet again. It is amazing, how recently this was farmland, with wild animals, and now it is all built up into housing developments. The wild animals haven't gone anywhere. And lots of people are annoyed they didn't just leave like the native people, all those years ago. These coyotes are fighting to keep their land. I say God Bless Them, every one.

It's always so eerie when their voices collide and bounce off each other.

Ah, yes! It was their land long before we came along. So, Natural Resources wants YOU to crate them up?? What's their job description?

I agree...they did that to other people long ago, I think they were called Native Americans

Wow! That is amazing. We get coyotes where I live. When they are hanging around, the town puts out alerts to protect the local pups and cats.

There are coyotes that live in my woods. There is a drainage ditch that runs behind the woods, and I think that they have babies down there. It sounds awesome at time listening to their calls and barks. We have never been bothered around the house by them--I guess we each have our boundaries and live in harmony.

Glad I don't have to deal with coyotes. The stories I have heard about them are not good.

Sounds like a dangerous place for outdoor cats.
