I Got Conned into Explaining the Birds and the Bee

Ok so how did I get lumbered into explaining the birds and the bee's to my son. I thought mothers delt with the girls and fathers delt with the boys????? I thought I had played it right having two boys.

I just thank God that Richard has a very intellectual mind and took it without embarrassment. I was not in the least embarrassed myself, I can talk to Richard about anything.

Now I believe that it is ok if you are not hetrosexual. My son thinks that being Gay is groes. Not from his own educated opinion as he knows nothing of Sex, but from TV. How do I explain to him that being homosexual is ok?

Just simple facts...start like augusta recommends. Then, when it's time, say that people have different preferences according to the way they feel so, while many men and women (males and females or boys and girls) "like" each other, some men like like men and some women like women. (You fill in the words that you feel are best...you can even use "birds" for an example or dogs or flowers because homosexuality exists throughout nature. (Your son will also learn in that process that homosexuality occurs naturally, therefore it isn't gross or sick or freaky.)

Tried that. I think he is pretty liberal, and needs to mature before I worry too much.

1. I think that first of all, you have to explain that 'love' is better than 'hate'.
2. It is better 'to love' someone, rather than 'to hate'.
3. It is better to 'love a woman', rather than 'hate a woman'
4. It is better to 'love a man', rather than 'hate a man'
5. All the rest of the 'nitty-gritty' stuff, I leave to you . . .

He's understood the basics. I think the rest will make sense as he matures.
