She looks good but is tired and sore. She will hopefully be venturing out of bed tomorrow and should be able to chat. We were allowed to see Zeev for a brief minute around 9:30 pm. I spoke w/ the nurse and she said he will be there at least four hours before moving to a room. He was just medicated for pain but she said I could check in there in a few hours. Unfortunately, no more details than that have been given. Bobbi is still waiting for her room..... The doctor was in a hurry to get to the next transplant as he is several hours late but told Michael that things went okay. I missed him as I was in the PACU with Bobbi who is awake and in pain. Bobbi is doing well, going slow, but already needing to be reminded to pace herself. Discharge to the transplant living center is anticipated tomorrow. Zeev was out of bed a bit more, sat up in a chair and worked with the physical therapist. We all attended an informative class on post-transplant care and then the nurse coordinator met w/ Zeev one on one to review all the medication he will take at home. He still tires very quickly. Zeev's color is returning and the doctor came by with a positive report. He even said possible discharge for him on Saturday, but we will see. She is sedated now w/ pain medication but the nurse said she was somewhat awake earlier and doing okay. She is sleeping peacefully with a sweet smile on her face and not a hair out of place. They should be moving her into a room in the next hour or so. We are still waiting to hear about Zeev, who is still in surgery... The doctor has some concern re: blood flow to Zeev's new kidney so he is awaiting a follow up test to check. However, he says there is no issue w/ rejection and clinically things look okay. We were unable to update the blog since Saturday since we could not get to a computer (the one in the hospital was blocked off). But we are back online in Huntington. Zeev was released this afternoon and could not get out of the hospital fast enough. Bobbi is back in diamonds, a sure sign that she is feeling better, although a little activity still causes a lot of fatigue. Zeev's labs looked better today. We have to wait to see her, but according to her surgeon, things went well. We will try to get into the PACU to see for ourselves in the next few hours. The doctor says she will probably be groggy the rest of the day. Zeev went into surgery exactly 2 hours later, and his surgery is still in progress. Another excellent idea from Bobbi as a last minute change has us reporting to the hospital at 5:30 AM instead of the original 10:30AM. Which other than the early wake-up call is a good thing as Roberta and Zeev are NPO after midnight which means NO FOOD or WATER. She said he did okay overnight, is tolerating the new medications he has to take and even had some breakfast. As yesterday, he is still in quite a bit of pain when he tries to move. Bobbi had a better night, is again up and slowly about. It looks like she may go home tomorrow but we will see. Bobbi saw her doctor already today and is now staying until Saturday, just to get a little stronger and feel a little better before getting discharged. Zeev is awake but having significant pain still. Today there is a class on the medication he will need to take, etc. after going home that we will attend and hopefully get some good information.
