  Buddy on the Road

Here are belated photos of Buddy the Interstate Cat enroute to Las Vegas.

This is one of his silent meows when he saw me looking at him. He is happy here with air conditioning blowing on his back under the seat.

Snack time. His water bowl is a casino coin cup. Most casinos now use tickets to pay out so the cups are vanishing. We take good care of the ones we have.

The day I got back to Colorado I visited the Corgis at home. Jones is the near one and Cari is the smaller one.

Loved the pics. Buddy is really something...a traveling cat, who would believe it? And, those corgis...I think it's an awful cute breed so, of course, I think they're adorable.

Those corgis are the nicest dogs to be around. They stayed here for a couple nights and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I like it when cats talk to you. Buddy there is a pretty amazing traveler.

He got his picture (and mine) in the Las Vegas Review-Journal in a 2006 article about pets who travel.

Wow! I would never even think of driving with a cat on the loose in the car. Mine would have turned my legs and arms into hamburger.

He never did freak out in a frenetic way - when he was stressed before we figured out what he needed he panted a lot and that really worried us.

Love the Corgis. They are such pretty animals. Buddy looks like a good traveler.

The Corgis are really fun and smart - they bark when you say the word 'coyote.' They have adopted me and treat me like family and think my house is their house.

He really is. I'm glad to think of him enjoying the yard in Las Vegas.

He was snacking when we went through Cedar City.

Buddy is a super cat. The one time we traveled with Brunswick, we had a cage for him in the back -- the seats were down. But he roamed at will. He used the kitty pan while we were driving. Nothing fazed him. He would sit on the arm rest in front or in my lap. Now that we have Chewy, the world's most fearful feline, I doubt we will be taking them. Chewy is much more physically upset than Bruns. And the two we lost to age and illness (I do miss them so) couldn't travel without being very distressed.

Brunswick has a lot of Buddy-like qualities. I like his name so much.

Does he stay still in the car? Our never would it was like driving with a monkey...

That's funny. He used to roam around some looking for cool darkness, which was usually by the driver's feet, but now we've got it figured out.
