  Popcorn Balls Recipe

No Sir, I don't think I will be making this recipe. No, it's not the butter and the sugar from the marshmallows, it's the mixing it up in the kitchen sink. I don't care how much germ killing cleaner a person applies, it just seems wrong. I might cut the recipe down and mix it up in a very large stock pot.

Another reason I wouldn't make it is that I probably won't buy such a useless food as marshmallows. Now, if by some chance some marshmallows come my way like pennies from heaven I'm rushing out to the kitchen and trying this recipe, just to see how it turns out.

MARSHMALLOW POPCORN BALLS
1 1/4 sticks butter
1 bag small marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring (your own judgment on amount)
Pop 3 large pans of popcorn. Use kitchen sink as your very large bowl (make sure clean and dry). Pour popcorn in sink.
Melt the above, stir while melting. When mixture is smooth, pour and mix into popcorn.

Put butter or small plastic bag over your hands to form the popcorn balls. Work as fast as you can. Reshape or squeeze each popcorn ball. Popcorn balls stay pretty soft.

The sink as a bowl is just too gross.

Even if it was brand new out of the box and washed clean, I'd worry about contamination from plumber's putty and wonder about what could crawl out of the drain.

Just think, the little trick or treaters won't know you made it in the kitchen sink.

There you go. What they don't know can't hurt them.

You're right.

Um, no, not in the kitchen sink.

I won't be making this either, Ms. T (but you knew that). It's a lot of work for popcorn and marshmallows. Does food coloring qualify as a useless food? I haven't had a marshmallow in 37 years (and counting).

You're right - I have 30 year old food coloring, saving for that day when I need some blue food.
