I am on vacation from my summer vacation. For about a week I don't have to worry about septic systems and fishermen and whether it is going to rain or not.

We drove to Las Vegas with Buddy the Cat on the 28th and stayed a couple of nights at the Palazzo on the Strip. It is so nice to get here and get reacquainted with my kitchen and sewing room.

It was 108 when we rolled into town the other day at 4:30 pm, but the last couple of days it cooled down to 92 or so with 9% humidity, so it feels like 72 - just perfect outside on the covered patio reading and watching the hummingbirds.

I don't have photos because I left the camera cable back in Colorado, so I will post them when I get back there. I'm looking forward to getting there out of this heat - it's going back into the triple digits for awhile.

Mr. Troutbend's bowling league started today, so he'll be all set for the rest of the winter.

Buddy the Cat is happy because he gets to go outside any time he wants. He was a good traveler this time - the key to it all was the air conditioning vents under the driver's seat so Bud could have a breeze all the way here.

I was looking for him a little bit ago, and finally he came out of his little cupboard in the kitchen that he opened by himself.

Awww That's so cute. We have to be careful with what we put in the kitchen garbage as Angel-Who-Isn't can open that cupboard by herself. Fortunately, she makes an awful racket doing so.

Soon you will be back in paradise and can have a fire every night. The heat probably does you in. Glad Gary is all set up and Buddy is so happy in his Las Vegas home.

Isn't it worrisome when you can't find your cat? Brunswick goes into the garage, and on to the pool deck. There is always the worry that he has somehow gotten into difficulty like when he fell in the pool. Chewy is too cautious to be adventurous. We always know where he is. But Brunswick is turning our hair gray.

Yes,one has to take a vacation from a vacationI will be glad when we leave next month for ours.
Everyone been and not we are going.that is the reason we
like to take some time off in the fall.
