The grass is lush
but the sky is washed out
and I'm still in my comfortable night clothes
listening to the burner in the cellar fire up
perhaps it's just heating water
I feel no new heat
just a calm from sleep
and reading in Kiss and Make-Up
about the band
and Gene's exploits
it's an easy read
I'll be done with it before the day's out
