Its been a long winter and I had to take the boat into the shop to get the lower unit of my outboard checked out. No major issues, but the dealer is going to put a new flow torque part in where the prop goes on. I'm probably going to switch to a Stainless steel prop from the aluminum. The walleye have been biting really well on the reef complex near Davis Bessie nuclear power plant. Yes the largest nursery for walleye reproduction in the world is located within 5 miles of a nuclear power plant, and this same reef complex is the firing zone for Camp Perry an active military base. There are certain times when you just can't be in the firing zone. Quite a few reports of 10 to 12 lb walleyes are coming in from the trollers working the deeper water outside of the major reefs. In line boards with husky jerks, reef runners and rattling rogues have been working, most of the fish are being taken in the top 8 feet of the water column, speeds for trolling have been slow 1.0-1.5MPH See you on the water.
